As arguably one of the world’s most famous bands, you might expect Red Hot Chili Peppers to be recognised wherever they go. Not so in Belarus.

Customs officers at an airport in Belarus apparently mixed up the band with Metallica, with the group ending up signing a selection of Metallica memorabilia.

“We were called into customs officials office at an airport in Belarus and they asked us to sign a bunch of Metallica CDs and photos. We tried to explain to them that we weren’t Metallica but they insisted that we sign anyway. They had the power,” wrote the group’s bassist, Flea, on Instagram.
