14 September 2016

St Petersburg duo Iamthemorning’s third album — Lighthouse — has been named the best album of the year by British progressive rock magazine Prog Magazine.

Made up of singer-songwriter Marjana Semkina and keyboardist and composer Gleb Kalyadin, Iamthemorning picked up the award at the fifth annual Progressive Music Awards ceremony on 1 September at the Underglobe, a venue set beneath London’s iconic Globe Theatre.

The duo collaborated with a number of other musicians for Lighthouse, most of whom were British.

Signed to British label Kscope, Iamthemorning rarely perform in their native Russia, although they are set to present Lighthouse in St Petersburg this week.
