America’s Fox Studios has purchased the rights to the Ukrainian series The Servant of the Nation, with plans to adapt the show for a US audience.

“Fox will now shoot the first season in the US, and in [the] final credits [...] there will be a mention that the format of the show was created by Kvartal 95 Studio, Ukraine. What could be a better contribution to our nation?” said Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the creative director of Kvartal 95 Studio and the show’s main actor at a press conference last month.

The Servant of the Nation is a 24-part comedy series centering on history teacher Vasiliy Goloborodko, who unexpectedly becomes the president of Ukraine.
