Calling all Moscow creatives, filmmakers and business owners with a heart for social impact — learn more about how to change the world through film and social media next week at Plat[form].

Taking place from 7 – 8 December at the Theatre of Nations’ new space, Plat[form] 2016 invites creative people, non-profit organisations and sustainable businesses with a strong sense of civic responsibility to learn about film as a trigger for social change.

The event will feature a presentation from special guest Sarah Ann Mosses of UK-based Together Films, on “Social impact-producing. How to change the world through the film?”, as well as screenings of Russian films produced to effect social change. A particular feature of Plat[form] 2016 will be several slots dedicated to the screening of films on ecology, in honour of 2017 as the “Year of Ecology” in Russia. For a full schedule please click here.

Plat[form] is hosted by Nikita Tikhonov-Rau, the project’s founder, general producer of the Third Sector Social Film Laboratory, and Vice President of the Documentary Film and Television Guild (Russian Documentary Guild). Mr Tikhonov-Rau is also the founder of Lifework — Russia’s first cross-disciplinary media project on social entrepreneurship in the Russian regions, which this month has launched a social startup accelerator.
