New play by Ukrainian-British theatre group Molodyi Teatr takes on immigration

2 December 2016

Documentary theatre meets talent show in Penetrating Europe, or Migrants Have Talent, the new play from Ukrainian-British theatre group Molodyi Teatr.

Bringing an absurd and comic twist to real-life stories, the show sees a group of migrants compete for a place to remain in the UK. By bringing the voices of migrants into the burning debate on immigration, Penetrating Europe sheds light on a complex issue, looking beyond the sensationalist media headlines.

“Now that we finally have control over immigration to the UK, we don’t have to take just anybody! Using a combination of their real stories and artistic talents, it’s up to our plucky migrants to persuade YOU, the Great British Public, to let them stay! [...] And get ready to vote to keep your favourites and kick out the rest!” reads a press release from the theatre group.

Molodyi Teatr will perform Penetrating Europe, or Migrants Have Talent on Wednesday 7 December at London’s Theatro Technis. Tickets cost £7 – to book your ticket e-mail [email protected] .
