Budapest-based Philosophy magazine unveils first print issue

19 January 2017

First founded as a digital publication in 2013 by a group of friends in Budapest, independent contemporary art, photography and fashion magazine Philosophy is launching its first print-based issue.

Philosophy‘s initial mission was to raise awareness of the Hungarian fashion industry, providing a platform for local creatives to present their work. The print issue sees Philosophy broaden its scope, featuring a diverse range of creative people from as far afield as India and Tokyo, while still showcasing the best of Hungarian talent. Among the global participants in this issue are photographers Arnold Daniel, Orsolya Luca, Stella Berkofsky, fine artist Chiharu Shiota and models Willy Morsch and Jeanne Quisenberry.

Beyond a platform for art, photography or fashion, Philosophy hopes to engage readers in discussion about the key questions facing society, encompassing the themes of cultural, political and sexual identity.
