To make time: Hungarian artist Csilla Klenyánszki explores her capacity for balance

29 June 2017

Watch the clock with Hungarian artist Csilla Klenyánszki’s To Make Time, a photographic series drawn from twelve physically and mentally challenging hour-long performances.

These strenuous exercises, titled “Flexible Hours”, explore Klenyánszki’s capacity for equilibrium and order. As time passes, the artist is making time: her right leg the minute hand of the clock, and her left leg the hour.

“The physical body shows the passage of time, transforming every single minute into a new posture. [...]To make the work I am literally racing against my own biological clock, as the performer needs to be relatively young to fullfill the choreography,” Klenyánszki says of the work.
