Darth Vader uses lightsaber to conduct Imperial March in Kazakhstan

This weekend, Darth Vader himself took to the stage to conduct Kazakhstan’s National Conservatory orchestra in their performance of John Williams’s Imperial March from Star Wars.

The concert, which was held as part of Astana’s Expo 2017, saw Darth Vader lead the orchestra with a very special and rather dramatic baton — a light saber, no less.

As Russian magazine Afisha Daily astutely pointed out, this performance seems fitting for the Expo, given that Kazakhstan’s pavilion is reminiscent of the Death Star of Star Wars fame.
