Green screen: Bucharest to host first green tech film festival in October

A new film festival focusing on documentaries covering green technology is set to launch next month in Bucharest.

Taking place in the Elvira Popescu cinema between 9–12 October, the Green Tech Film Festival will showcase Romanian and international documentaries and short films exploring the topics of ecology, technology and sustainability. Among others on the bill are several Discovery Channel documentaries and Netherlands-produced Offline Is The New Luxury.

Also in the schedule is a research conference and several workshops on science and creative recycling, as well as film discussions. See full programme here [in Romanian].

The organisers have also pledged to eliminate the festival’s carbon footprint.
