Hungarian photographer wins 2017’s Wildlife Comedy Photo Award

A Hungarian photographer has been named the winner in this year’s Comedy Wildlife Awards. Tibor Kercz snagged the overall prize with his shot of an owl scrambling to find a place to sit.

Other winners included Italy’s Andrea Zampatti, who took first place in the “On The Land” category with this snap of a very happy looking dormouse.

Troy Mayne won the “Under the Sea” category with this shot taken in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, UK-based photographer John Threlfall came top in the “In the Air” category with this perfectly timed shot of a bird and an airplane trail.

The Wildlife Comedy Photography Awards were founded as an light-hearted competition designed to boost awareness of animal conservation work. The 2017 competition recieved more than 3,500 entries from 86 countries.
