A Song for Young Xenophobes: listen to the latest release by Mary Ocher

4 January 2018

Born in Russia, raised in Tel Aviv, and now settled in Berlin, musician and artist Mary Ocher has infused her latest album with a vibrant patchwork of musical motifs.

The Moscow-born artist’s latest album, The West Against the People, draws on an eclectic range of styles, mixing Latin and African-inspired beats with ambient waves of krautrock.

The politically-charged album pulls these threads together with an overarching narrative, exploring migration, freedom and western identity in a world of growing uncertainty.

The West Against The People will be released by Klangbad on 10 March 2017.
