Silhouette: Dutch architects reveal new ‘gateway to Moscow’

Dutch design firm MVRDV has revealed new designs for Moscow’s latest skyscraper.

Architects created the distinctive red building to become a new “‘symbolic gateway” to the Russian capital. While the colourful ceramic façade was designed to blend in with the area’s constructivist aesthetic, the building’s modular design was created as an abstraction of other classical stepped silhouettes elsewhere in the city.

As well as luxury apartments, the 78-metre building will also boast a sports center, an event space, a sky deck and a supermarket.
