Shapeshifters: explore belonging beyond borders with director Sophie Vuković

5 March 2018

The story of filmmaker Sophie Vuković is one of movement and migration. Her parents travelled from Croatia, where Vuković was born, to build a life in Australia, but finally settled back in northern Europe.

Shapeshifters explores this complex web of identities on the cusp of multiple cultures, with Vuković combining the personal and the political through a first-person narration. She examines both the need for a fixed identity and the modern, globalist spirit: creating a film which resonates across world borders.

Shapeshifters will be showing at the Barbican in London on 18 March, accompanyed by a talk from the director. For more information, click here.
