Ukrainian fashion label accuses Zara of copying its best-selling print

Kiev-based design brand Ksenia Schnaider has accused global fashion brand Zara of copying one of her best-selling designs.

The latest collection from Zara Kids features a yellow sweatshirt with the slogan, “Sample: Not for Sale”, a print which first appeared in Ksenia Schnaider’s SS 17 campaign.

The slogan has since been reinterpreted across various collections on T-shirts, jackets, and sweatshirts, appearing as part of the Ksenia Schnaider brand in shops including Moda Operandi and Selfridges.

“I have to say that Zara isn’t the first to try and copy the design of this print,” said the brand. “We know that counterfeit T-shirts with the same slogan are also being sold in China. It’s especially unpleasant when people use our hashtag with posts of themselves wearing these fake t-shirts.”

Zara is yet to comment on the claims.
