Discover the DIY publishing scene of the New East and beyond at this panel discussion and zine sale with JEZGA magazine’s Anna Rosova and Fresh From Poland‘s Gosia Fricze

Self-publishing, or samizdat, was how censored writers, thinkers and underground artists disseminated their work in the Soviet Union. Zine culture in today’s New East remains a way for free thinkers to embrace photography, fashion, art and literature on their own terms.

We’ll be in conversation with Anna and Gosia about their publications and DIY publishing in Latvia, Poland and beyond.

You’ll also be able to discover and purchase a diverse range of remarkable New East zines publications from the Calvert 22 Bookshop.

This event is part of the New East Photo Weekend, which kicks off the New East Photo Prize 2018 exhibition at Calvert 22 Foundation.
