Maria Sviridova (b. 1992) lives and works in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Krasnodar region. With a background in ecological engineering and documentary photography, she is interested in the limits of human and non-human, identity and cultural memory. Combining documentary photography and installation, Sviridova explores dynamic relationships between the level of (self-)isolation and control, the unique specifics of macro- and micro-social interactions in naturally and artificially limited communities.
