Julia Shafarostova (b. 1991) is a visual artist based in Krasnodar who works with photography and installation. Her practice is based on methods of psychogeography and mythologisation of space and personality. A graduate of Elena Sukhoveeva and Viktor Khmel’s photo school and the independent Krasnodar Institute for Contemporary Art, Shafarostova is a founder of an apartment artist residency ladno. . She is part of a girls creative cooperative Businki and a supporter of self-organised structures.
