Post-Soviet music: a film on the sounds of the New East

In this film shot by London-based filmmaker Timothy George Kelly, The Calvert Journal heads to Moscow to talk to artists Pavel Milyakov, aka Buttechno, and Yana Kedrina, aka Kedr Livanskiy, about what the post-Soviet means to them, tracing today’s beats back to the punk movement of the 1990s and perestroika sounds to the dreamy electronica of today.
