Katya Ev (Ekaterina Vasilyeva, b. Moscow, 1983) lives and works between France and Belgium, where she currently studies at the Ghent’s HISK. Having a background in political science and art, she develops time-based, performative practice, and explores such subjects as institutional critique, issues of power and control, and potential for the individual agency within dominant power structures. She is part of a media collective in charge of the estate of Oksana Shachko (1987-2018), artist and feminist activist, co-founder of Femen in Ukraine.
