As with Gosha Rubchinskiy’s last book, Crimea / Kids, Youth Hotel is dedicated to a place, Otel Molodezhniy in Moscow. But the underlying concept is one and the same — youth — which has come to define Rubchinskiy’s practice as both a fashion designer and photographer. “Youth is a transitional state. With this book I’m inviting everyone to stay in this world of youth,” the designer explains. But Rubchinskiy is far from nostalgic — Youth Hotel is a celebration of being young, an all-night party in a hotel room.
