It’s no accident that Homa rhymes with Noma — Filip Ćirić’s restaurant has, like its Danish near-namesake, completely reimagined the possibilities of its local cuisine — Serbia’s previously been known for a preponderance of grilled meats and pastries. Located next to a supermarket at the end of a gritty street in Belgrade’s Lower Dorcol neighbourhood, homa is a fine dining oasis in the habit of serving sladoled (ice cream) with main courses in surprising flavours such as mustard and parmesan.
