Shooting stars: shortlisted photographers for the New East Photo Prize

In May we partnered up with Bird in Flight and The Guardian to launch the inaugural New East Photo Prize to find outstanding photo stories from the region. After an impressive turnout of over 1000 entries from 25 countries and much deliberation from our international panel of judges, we have whittled down the list to 18 shortlisted hopefuls. The 10 finalists, who will be announced next week, will have the opportunity to take part in a group show at Calvert 22 Foundation in London. Until then, get to know some of the brightest names in the photo world from Warsaw to Chukotka.
