Catch the UK premiere of Polish pop duo Coals with The Calvert Journal’s latest after-party

22 May 2018

Some of Poland’s best young music talent are taking to the stage in London to mark the launch of the latest photography exhibition by Calvert 22 Foundation.

Ambient pop duo Coals will be performing live in the UK for the first time, showcasing their own dreamy brand of electronic pop straight from the band’s first full-length album, Tamagotchi.

They’ll be supported by Polish DJ Møzaika and Moscow-born performer Lokiboi, who is already taking over the London scene with ever-evolving sets of deep 808 filled 2-step and steady old school house.

The bands will be performing at Shoreditch’s Ace Hotel on 24 May following the private view for Calvert 22 Foundation’s latest exhibition, Family Values: Polish Photography Now.

Exploring the ideas of identity, home and family in a rapidly changing world, the show is the first exhibition dedicated entirely to Polish photography to take place in the UK.

At its heart will the work of iconic Polish photographer Zofia Rydet (1911 – 1997), an artist whose work has never been displayed in Britain and is only now coming to wide international prominence.

Her images will appear alongside contemporary Polish artists, including Józef Robakowski, Aneta Grzeszykowska, Weronika Gęsicka, Aneta Bartos and Adam Palenta.

Curated by Kate Bush, the exhibition will be showing at Calvert 22’s London space from 25 May – 22 July 2018.
