The Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow has announced the winners of its 2018 grant program to support Russia’s upcoming artistic talent.

More than 280 artists applied for the scheme, which gives winners 30,000 roubles (£360) a month over the course of a year. The chosen artists are also invited to take part in a Garage exhibition and the gallery’s education programme.

Eight artists were selected this year, including Elena Anosova, Ian Ginzburg, Ekaterina Reshetnikova, Anna Rotaenko, Igor Samolet, and art group Gorod Ustinov. Former grant recipient Anastasia Bogomolova had her scholarship extended.

The prize was announced alongside the winner of the 2018–2019 Signet Land Art grant. Yekaterinburg artist Maria Plaksina won the prize, which includes a commission for land art work in Moscow’s iconic Gorky Park.
