Make your arty friends jealous with this sleek and sustainable minimalist Christmas tree

Lights. Baubles. Miniature reindeer covered in glitter, and forced to wear Santa hats. Life can be hard for a minimalist design lover at Christmas time.

But if you were suffering to cope with another year of iridescent unicorn tinsel, then you weren’t alone. Ljubljana-based design team Hello Yellow House have launched their own slick Christmas alternative — and it’s completely plastic-free.

Named Yelka after the Slovenian word for fir tree (Jelka), the minimalist trees are designed to withstand excited children (or pets) throughout the festive season. All of the wood is also sourced from Slovenia itself.
