Russian DJ Zedd picks up Grammy for best dance hit

Russian-German electronic music producer and DJ Anton Zaslavski better known by his stage name Zedd has picked up a Grammy award for his hit Clarify. The 24-year-old DJ, who is from Saratov, a Russian port city on the Volga River, beat international DJs such as Armin van Buuren and Calvin Harris to win the award for the Best Dance Recording. Zaslavski, a classically trained musician, has produced tracks for the likes of Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga. He moved to Germany at the age of three with is parents both of whom are classical musicians. Forbes magazine estimates that in 2012, the year he was named a Rolling Stone “Artist to Watch”, he earned $3.5m.
