Two new east photographers become finalists of FreshFaced + WildEyed 2015

15 June 2015

Russian photographer Tanya Zommer and Romanian photographer Alexandra Vacaroiu are two of 25 finalists to take part in The Photographers’ Gallery’s show FreshFaced + WildEyed, which opens tomorrow. The annual exhibition is dedicated to recognising and nurturing new talent among UK graduates.

Tanya Zommer’s project Dailies documents her and her partner’s emotional journey as they await the birth of their child through surrogacy, while Alexandra Vacaroiu’s series I want to remember everyth examines the potential benefits of photography on patients living with Alzheimer’s. They will share the exhibition space with 23 other photographers and artists selected from an open submission process.

FreshFaced + WildEyed exhibition was first introduced in 2008 to showcase innovative photographic works by graduates from visual arts courses across the UK. Both finalists have photography degrees from London universities: Vacaroiu, a MA in Fashion Photography from London College of Communication; and Zommer, a MA in Photography from Central Saint Martins.

FreshFaced + WildEyed will be on show at The Photographer’s Gallery from 16 June to 5 July 2015. More information here.
