Vending machines selling food designed for astronauts are to be installed at Moscow universities, it has been announced.
According to Andrei Vechernikov, general director of the Laboratory of Space Food, the vending machines will first be available at the Moscow Aviation Institute, where future astronauts go to study. In the near future the company intends to roll out the project to Moscow State University (MGU) and Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).
Aside from universities, space food is available today at several shopping centres in Russia. In the near future, the vending machines will also appear at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre and possibly at one of Moscow’s airports.
