Ukrainian Cinema Days in London opens on Thursday 10 December, bringing screenings of both contemporary and classic films, shorts and documentaries to London’s Shoreditch.

Presented by the Igor Iankovskyi Charity Foundation, the Kyiv Molodist International Film Festival and the Ukrainian State Film Agency, the festival will feature Ostap Kostyuk’s 2014 documentary The Living Fire and Oles Sanin’s celebrated feature film The Guide (2014), as well as a selection of the best shorts from the 2015 Molodist Festival. Also of particular note is White Bird with a Black Mark (1971, dir. by Yuri Illienko), which is widely considered to be one of the most important works of Ukrainian cinema.

Screenings will be followed by Q&A sessions with the directors, producers and actors of the films.

Ukrainian Cinema Days in London will take place from 10 – 13 December. A full programme can be found online. Screenings will take place at RichMix cinema in Shoreditch. Admission costs £6 and tickets can be bought online.
