Check out Tunnel through time, an installation to commemorate 60 years since the Hungarian Revolution by Budapest-based architecture studio Hello Wood.
In particular, the installation serves to mark the welcoming of thousands of emigrants fleeing Hungary by Canada. The tunnel, whose exit forms the shape of the iconic maple leaf national symbol, is made up of 37,565 timber pieces to represent each of the Hungarians accepted into the country.
Commissioned by the Consulate General of Hungary in Toronto, Tunnel through time is currently located in the city’s Budapest Park, but will be moved closer to the Niagara Falls after a month.
