Three New East resorts named among skiing top ten

4 November 2016

Resorts in Kazakhstan, Poland and Bulgaria were featured in The Guardian‘s recent list of top places to ski.

The slopes at Shymbulak, close to the Kazakh capital Astana, is noted for being great value and perfect for those who want to avoid queues.

Poland’s Białka Tatrzańska, just two hours by car from Kraków and 22km from the resort town of Zakopane, is a fairly small resort particularly perfect for novices and those travelling with children.

The guide lists Bansko, set three hours’ drive south of the Bulgarian capital Sofia, as about the nearest thing you’ll find to a cheap skiing holiday. Again, this resort is especially suited to new skiers and families.

Where will your next New East skiing holiday be?
