Bucharest is on the lookout for a new logo — if you have an idea that you think perfectly embodies the Romanian capital, send it in to Bucharest City Hall’s design contest.

What are the judges looking for? As you might expect, the winning logo must in some way reflect the history, culture and city life of Bucharest. In particular, entries will be judged according to several criteria: relevance to the competition theme (Bucharest, we assume), attractiveness of design, originality (a design that both recalls tradition and has a contemporary feel), functionality (visibility, readability, recognisability), and adaptability.

Submissions are already open for the competition and will close on 20 April. If love for the city isn’t motivation enough, bear in mind that the winning designer will take home a prize of RON 50,000 ($11,950).

Any Romanian citizen aged 18 or over can enter. Find out more here (in Romanian)
