Major Lazer announce collaboration with Kazakh rapper Scriptonite

12 April 2017

American electronic trio Major Lazer have announced their partnership with Russian-speaking Kazakh rapper Scriptonite on a brand new track.

The collaboration with Scriptonite forms part of Major Lazer’s new partnership with Tuborg, which sees the trio make three tracks together with artists from across the world. Each track takes the same Major Lazer x Tuborg beat as its base, but introduces the unique sound of each collaborating artist in order to create a distinctive and striking fusion.

Originally from Kazakhstan, Scriptonite is now among the most popular rap and hip-hop stars in Russia. His genre-defining 2015 debut album Home of Normal Phenomena was among the year’s top sellers, while 2015 also saw him scoop both the GQ and Musicbox “Breakthrough of the Year” awards.

Scriptonite is the first of the participating artists to be named by Tuborg. The identities of the other artists collaborating with Major Lazer x Tuborg will be kept under wraps until next month.
