Calling all Ivans: Bosnian town hopes to break name record

If you’ve always dreamed of making it into Guinness World Records and your name happens to be Ivan, now is your time to shine! The town of Kupres in western Bosnia and Herzegovina is hoping to break the world record for the largest gathering of people with the same name — to help them, come to town on 30 July.

The catchily named 1000 Ivana (1,000 Ivans) event will include a morning Mass, a procession and a group photograph.

Don’t fret if you’re better known by a variation of Ivan, such as Ivica, Ivo, or Ivek — you’re also invited.
