Cowboy culture: Lola Paprocka and Pani Paul in London photo book launch

14 June 2017

Tomorrow Polish-born photographer Lola Paprocka and her partner Pani Paul are launching Ed Forbis, a photo book centring on the iconic 1980s Marlboro cowboy, at London’s theprintspace gallery.

After many years as an itinerant cowboy and rancher, Ed Forbis still lives in close connection with nature on the south rim of the Grand Canyon, packing mules and looking after the horses so essential to the work of rangers and tour guides.

Through Forbis’s personal story, the photo book offers a portrait of cowboy culture as a phenomenon in danger of disappearance, despite the status of cowboys as the archetypal American hero.

Ed Forbis will be launched on Thursday 15 June from 7.30pm at theprintspace gallery in east London. Entrance is free but registering in advance is recommended.
