Premiere: Siberian band The Jack Wood mix desire and danger in new video

Siberian garage rock trio The Jack Wood have released a fiery new video for their song Coal.

Directed by Moscow-based filmmaker and photographer Anastasia Ivanova, the video centres around a wild and passionate affair – one that could turn lethal at any moment. A snake makes an appearance in the bedroom scene which, as Ivanova explains, was inspired by one of the three band members: “The guitarist has a snake tattoo that we eventually took out of the frame – instead, we decided to build a mythology around it.”

Coal is from Ritual, the band’s third album, released last year, and the video makes a subtle reference to another of its tracks, Barefoot Eve.
