First ever Albanian horror movie to premiere this month

5 September 2017

Later this month, the first ever Albanian horror film Bloodlands will open at cinemas in the capital, Tirana.

Although directed by Greek-Australian filmmaker Steven Kastrissios, Bloodlands is presented entirely in Albanian. The movie, which has already been presented at numerous international film festivals, among them Nashville Film Fest, centres on a woman who becomes a witch after being shunned by her community. Among the popular local stars to feature in the film are Gezim Rudi, Ilire Vinca and and Suela Bako.

Bloodlands will open in Tirana on 22 September — look out for any chances to catch the first Albanian horror film on a screen near you!
