Future Architecture Festival to kick off in Ljubljana this September

13 September 2017

The Future Architecture Festival: Breaking Down the Walls will kick off in the Slovenian capital on 20 September, running until the end of the month in conjunction with the Future Architecture Platform.

With the majority of events taking place at Ljubljana’s Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO), the 10-day festival will include workshops, discussions, screenings and exhibitions by architects, designers and curators from across Europe, looking at pressing issues and challenges within the field of architecture today.

Highlights include a panel discussion on Internet Engagement & Methods of Subversion with James Taylor-Foster and Charles Broskoski and Ethel Baraona Pohl, as well as an impulse talk by Ludwig Engel, an expert in the field of architectural and urbanist storytelling, on Tales Only Architecture Can Tell.

A four-hour workshop will also take place on 24 September, exploring the relationship between architecture and the senses. Slovenian-born Anja Humljan (from The Urban Yoga) will lead a meditation class exploring the ways that the different senses can be used to relate to one’s urban surroundings, during her workshop Architecture is Human.

More information on all the exhibitions taking place can be found here.
