Man vs machine: festival exploring technology’s effects on humans opens in Bucharest

30 October 2017

How does technology reconfigure our ideas about what it means to be human, live well and do good? Liminal Festival, an event dedicated to technology, will attempt to answer these questions, launching in Bucharest tomorrow, 31 October.

The festival, with its theme this year as The Good Life, consists of a series of talks and debates on the role of technology in our understanding of the future. Also touching on the role of machines in relation to human creativity, the festival will feature an exhibition exploring the many ways in which technology is reshaping our ideas about the world.

A hackathon themed around the hypothetical process of terraforming — deliberately modifying the atmosphere, surface or temperature of a planet or a moon to make it inhabitable for human life — will form the final part of the festival.

Liminal Festival will take place between 31 October and 5 November across several venues. For more information check out the festival’s website.
