Explore the explosive light-filled world of Romanian artist Adela Andea

5 January 2018

Romanian-born artist Adela Andea uses light and space to explore the hazy line between reality and the virtual world.

Andea, who is now based in Texas, relies on LED lights, magnifying lenses, and flexible neon tubes to immerse viewers into a full-sensory experience. Natural phenomena such as sea creatures, the cosmos and melting icebergs often provide inspiration for each composition, transforming her installations the feel of pulsating, futuristic eco-systems.

“In my vision there is not one unilateral truth or message about reality,” she says. “My art is trying to deconstruct the clear line between reality and virtual reality.”
