The London Georgian Film Festival is back in the British capital with a special programme celebrating 100 years since Georgia first gained its independence.

With 15 Georgian films and documentaries on offer, the festival will screen classic Perestroika-era comedies alongside some of the country’s most critically acclaimed new releases at a range of London venues from 1 May to 9 May.

Many of the directors will be in attendance for special Q&A sessions.

Tamar Beruchashvili, Georgia’s ambassador to the UK, will appear at a panel discussion after The Independence Chronicles: a special screening of six newsreels filmed in the independent Georgian Democratic Republic between 1918 and 1921.

To book a ticket for one of the screenings — or to book your place at one of the festival’s accompanying Georgian banquets — visit the festival website here.
